Private classes are a “choose your own adventure” experience. I work with you to create the menu of your dreams and we can cater for up to 6 people in a private class.

How much does it cost for a small private group class?
The cost of a private group class depends on 3 factors:
How many people are attending (between 1 - 6 people)
What menu you have chosen (eg. classes with seafood dishes will cost more due to the cost of produce)
Location of the class. I’m happy to travel up to 25kms from Rozelle / Schofields for an additional travel fee.

Had an absolutely amazing evening with Bhavna cooking up a storm.
Bhavna was so passionate about her food and the history behind it, full of helpful tips and tricks, all with the intention of making this delicious cuisine accessible and less intimidating. It worked! I left feeling completely empowered not only to follow recipes when making Indian dishes, but actually to experiment and make my own versions without even consulting a recipe. Not bad for four fun-filled hours!
Highly recommend Bhavna's classes to anyone looking for confidence in cooking Indian cuisine, whether experience cooks or complete beginners. What a wonderful evening :)

My husband and I recently spent an afternoon and evening cooking with Bhavna from Modern Desi Cooking.
It was amazing. We learnt to cook two meat curries, fried fish, Saag Aloo, stuffed bread, Raita, special rice and Dahl.
The flavours were incredible and we learnt the science behind 'what to add when'.
After all the work was done we all enjoyed our meal together and after 5 1/2 hours we left with enough 'leftover for two days'.
I cannot recommend Bhavna highly enough and we plan to return to her kitchen to learn more.

An exceptional experience!As soon as we stepped into Bhavna’s teaching space, she made us feel as though, for the next few hours, we were stepping off the well worn path of the everyday, and heading off on an unexpected adventure!
During our private class with Bhavna, she shared so much with us; numerous wonderful recipes as well as her personal connection along with them, glimpses into India’s often untold history and the impact these influences had in shaping the cuisine of today, and then more morsels of information as explored the many individual ingredients that form the foundation of traditional Indian cuisine.
A culinary experience for those truly looking for that little something extra!
