Mehrangarh Fort Jodhpur- The Modern Desi Tours

Explore the land of “spirituality and philosophy” with Bhavna - let her show you her homeland through the eyes of a Modern Desi Girl.

The Itinerary

When I created this tour itinerary I imagined I was creating it for my best friend. I imagined her coming to visit me in India. Her conditions are simple:

“I only have 10 days but I want a deep cultural experience of what India has to offer. I want to leave feeling like India is both new and old friend whom I long to meet again”.

With this simple intention in mind, I put together a bespoke itinerary that allows one to experience the depth and beauty of India has to offer.

Yes, we’ll visit key tourist spots but more importantly, you’ll get to experience India from someone who grew up there.

  • Delhi – 2 Days

Your journey begins in Delhi, India’s bustling capital and a true melting pot of cultures. Its food scene alone tells the story of the city—whether it’s the tangy, flavorful chaats of Old Delhi or the rich, decadent Mughlai dishes that trace their roots here, every bite reflects Delhi’s diversity.

But Delhi is more than just its cuisine. You’ll wander through its architectural treasures, from the imposing Red Fort and the grand Jama Masjid to the serene and modern Lotus Temple. This is a city where history, tradition, and modern life come together in vibrant harmony.

  • Agra - 2 days

Our next stop is Agra, home to one of the world’s most iconic wonders—the Taj Mahal. Standing before this masterpiece, you’ll be captivated not only by its beauty but also by the love story that inspired its creation.

Agra is equally celebrated for its Mughlai culinary heritage. Originating in the kitchens of the Mughal emperors, Mughlai cuisine is rich, aromatic, and layered with spices such as saffron, cardamom, and cinnamon. Every dish is a reflection of the grandeur of its past.

Beyond the Taj, you’ll uncover the city’s other treasures—like the mighty Agra Fort. Agra is not just about one monument or one meal; it’s about immersing yourself in a living tapestry of history, culture, and flavour.

  • Jaipur - 2 Days

Known as the “Pink City,” Jaipur enchants visitors with its terracotta-hued buildings, bustling bazaars, and regal charm. The city offers a perfect blend of royal heritage and vibrant local life.

You’ll step inside architectural marvels such as the Amber Fort and the City Palace, each echoing the grandeur of Rajasthan’s royal past. Alongside its majestic palaces, Jaipur also invites you to savour the bold flavours of Rajasthani cuisine—rich, hearty, and often fiery. With its creative use of lentils, beans, spices, and dried fruits, every meal here tells a story of resilience and tradition.

  • Jodhpur - 2 days

Known as the “Blue City,” Jodhpur is instantly recognisable by the sea of indigo houses that spread out beneath the imposing Mehrangarh Fort. This mighty fortress, one of the largest in India, offers sweeping views of the city and stands as a reminder of Rajasthan’s royal legacy.

As you wander Jodhpur’s winding lanes and bustling bazaars, you’ll discover vibrant textiles, handicrafts, and the warm hospitality the city is known for. The culinary scene here is just as colourful—famed for spicy street food snacks, traditional thalis, and sweets that have been perfected over generations.

Jodhpur is a city where history, culture, and flavour come together against a backdrop of striking blue.

  • Udaipur – 2 Days

Often called the “City of Lakes,” Udaipur is one of Rajasthan’s most romantic destinations. Set against the backdrop of the Aravalli Hills, its shimmering lakes and elegant palaces create a scene straight out of a fairy tale. The iconic Lake Pichola, with the Lake Palace seemingly floating upon its waters, is a sight that stays with you forever.

As you explore Udaipur, you’ll wander through the grandeur of the City Palace, stroll along serene ghats, and lose yourself in colourful markets filled with crafts and jewellery. Udaipur’s cuisine reflects the richness of Mewar tradition, with dishes that balance bold Rajasthani spices with delicate regional flavours.

Udaipur is where history, art, and romance come together on the water’s edge.

  • Fly from Udaipur to Delhi for a much needed rest before you fly back home.

Domestic flights are included in the itinerary with 25 kgs check in luggage.

Unlike large, impersonal tours, this culinary & cultural journey is specifically curated to ensure that every participant can take it slow, savour the experience, & truly immerse themselves into the magic of India.

This is a group experience designed to give you personal attention and the opportunity to ask questions, engage in conversations, and get a deeper understanding of the culinary traditions that have been passed down through generations.
